Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth – September 2018

Can you believe it? We’re already at the end of September and a step closer to 2019… Before we get to October though, I’ve got time to name my Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth for the tenth time this year.

I’m heading over to the USA in a few days to probably expand my sneaker collection even further, but I wanted to make sure that I shared these beauties with you before I left. My picks this month would actually have been perfect before I left, but I picked up the Neighbourhoods from last month instead!

But that doesn’t stop any of you from getting your hands on a pair though, so let me introduce you to my #SneakOfTheMonth for this month…

With Jo’burg’s dry months almost at an end now, this pair of adis could be just what the doctor ordered as it starts to get a bit rainy again. The storms have already threatened a little bit, and no doubt it’s only going to get worse. That’s where the Goretex detailing comes into play.

One of the things that I like most is the standout yellow with the black lines, I’ve always been a fan of this colour scheme and it really pops with these in particular. On top of that, the mesh sole looks really smart and goes perfectly with the colour scheme of the rest of the shoe. Also, in a more practical sense, the EVA foam midsole cushioning is super comfy and very durable.

My Take: 8/10
As you probably know, I’m a sucker for collabs… The fact that adi have not only teamed up with Livestock, but also got Goretex involved with these is brilliant. And the ‘gimmick’ of them being completely waterproof is definitely welcome. Add that to the striking look of the sneaker, and I reckon they’re onto a winner!

SNEAK FACT!! – Livestock, a Canadian brand, has now been collaborating with adidas for exactly a decade. Their first collaboration was back in September 2008 with the Livestock ZX 450.
