Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth – December 2017

It’s over! The year 2017 is practically done and dusted, but not before I pick one last Shelflife #SneakOfThe Month.
I’ve largely gone for Nikes this year because there have been killed pairs brought out them by them over the course of the last 12 months, but I’m deciding to end the year with a first entry from a different brand.

I also want to take some time to thank you guys for taking the time out to visit my site, and to the legends over at Shelflife for keeping sneakerheads like you and I stocked up with the best gear all year round.

So, we all have Christmas food to be finishing and New Years parties to be preparing for, so let’s do this.

The final #SneakOfTheMonth for 2017 is…

Raised By Wolves x Reebok Classic

Look, everybody knows the Reebok Classic. It’s a sneaker that seems to have been around since the dawn of time, and it has certainly managed to stand the test of it. This collaboration offers bit of an update, but with the same popular look.

Fully equipped with Gore-Tex technology – for the first time since Reebok was founded – these are the perfect sneaker to pick up if you’re braving the rains in Johannesburg or preparing for the winter months that aren’t too far away.

Raise By Wolves is a Canadian brand (they know ALL about the cold), and they’ve knocked it out of the park with these designs. I’m also a HUGE fan of the baby blue soles on all three colourways.

My Take: 8/10
They’re a very cool – very practical – take on a classic shoe, and I’m a big fan with what RBW and Reebok have done here. I think I’d go for the ‘Icy Blue’ myself, but all three of them look dope. Black and white will go with so many different outfits.

SNEAK FACT!! – The name ‘Reebok’ is actually a deviation of the South African animal, the rhebok. The founders wanted a word that meant nothing, and ‘Reebok’ was the only one of 20 suggestions that got cleared to use. It was also their first choice.
