I don’t think it’ll come as any surprise that I’ve gone for a pair of Air Max this month… I mean, March is literally the home of Air Max Day, so did I really even have much of a choice to begin with?
I love this time of year because it’s when Nike start getting even more creative with what they’re releasing, and they often save some of their best gear to be part of their Air Max Day celebrations.
This pair that I’ve chosen I actually decided to get a pair for myself, so was lucky enough – with the help of my amazing girlfriend – to get some original images that we took with me wearing the newest addition to my collection.
So lets not waste anymore time… March’s Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth is:
Nike Air Max 270
So the 270s launched at Shelflife today, and I can’t imagine that there will be many of these Hot Punch babies around for too long. I made sure that I got my pair quickly because they’re new and I like nice things 😂. Given the size of the air bag – Nike’s biggest ever by the way – it’s incredibly comfortable.
If you’re wondering how big the bubble is, well it’s 32 millimetres, which is pretty handy for a shortarse like myself. I’ll take all the help that I can get! I like how the whole shoe is toned down with black everywhere, but the heel is so in your face.
It’s also quite a good price for a new Air Max as well. We’ve seen sneakers going for substantially more than these, and to say that they’re literally brand new globally, Shelflife are really doing us a favour here. I like them so much that I even went for a little bit of a modelling session. The shoes look great. Me? Not so much…
My Take: 9/10
I’m a big fan of these sneakers, and especially the colourway that I’ve got. I love the way the neon on the exaggerated heel pops out from the black, and trust me, they’re super comfortable. The details on the sneaker are nice too, even if you have to be close to really appreciate them.
SNEAK FACT!! – The 270 shoe is actually inspired by both the Air Max 93 and the Air Max 180. But 93 + 180 = 273, you might ask? Well the reason Nike went with 270 was to highlight the 270 degrees of air the sneaker has.
