Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth – February 2018

It’s February already! Crazy, right? Well a new month means a new fresh pair of kicks for my Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth, and I’ve waiting until midway through February because of this specific pair launching this week.

I can’t be the only one that feels that Adidas have really upped their sneaker game over the last 18 months or so with the EQTs and return of the Climacool etc. but these babies are something really different.

Let me tell you, South African sneakerheads need to keep a real close eye on the shelflife.co.za in the coming weeks, because they have some serious fire coming our way.

Anyway, let me get to this month’s pair… Introducing the…

Welcome to the future! You may remember the adidas Crazy 1 ADVs, well this is a sock take on them. Everybody is doing the sock thing these days – especially in my industry, football – and Adi have made sure that they’re keeping up with the trend as they brought us this. It’s a super futuristic looking shoe, and something that I imagine them wearing in Blade Runner

I have a love/hate relationship with triple white trainers. Firstly, I love them because they always look so clean and fresh. These are no exception, the all white colourway just looks so smart, and the bit of blue pops nicely. On the other hand, I’m quite a clumsy person and I’m TERRIFIED of getting all white trainers dirty. That’s why you need to make sure you Crep them. If you do that and you look after them, these will look dope for a long time.

The fact that they’re laceless gives them a really streamlined look, and it’s not surprise that these are selling out super fast over in the States. Luckily Shelflife still have pairs in stock, but if you want to grab a pair then you should probably make a move pretty quickly. They only released yesterday, and are hot property.

My Take: 8/10
As I mentioned before, I get a bit scared by all white trainers purely because of how easily I can mess them up, but I like how different these are. If looked after properly they’re dope. I’m also a fan of the semi-camouflaged Adi three stripes.

SNEAK FACT!! – The Crazy 1 sneaker used to be known as The Kobe, but when the basketball star left the brand they decided to change the name to what it is now. You can definitely see his imprint on the Crazy 1 ADV though.
