Shelflife #SneakOfTheMonth – April ’17

It’s been a busy few weeks in the sneaker world as we get new kicks coming out from all angles, but I’ve got my eyes on a very specific pair this month.

I don’t know if you read this blog monthly – I hope you do! – but if you do then you’ll know that I’m a big fan of the Air Force 1 Flyknit range that Nike have been bringing out recently.

I’ve got two pairs personally from Shelflife – a blue one and a red one – and they’re genuinely some of the comfiest sneakers that I’ve ever worn.

So, without further ado, I introduced the:

Nike Air Force – Ultra Flyknit – “Gucci”
R1,999

I mean look at them!! I’ll go into the real reason why I like this shoe afterwards, but on pure looks alone they’re pretty stunning aren’t they? No prizes why they’re called ‘Gucci’ with that green, black and red colour, and it just seems to work doesn’t it?

Anyhoo, aside from the looks, anyone who’s ever stood on a Nike Utra sole will know the difference that’s in store with these. Air Force have always been too heavy, too clumpy for me, and that’s why I’ve been reticent to get a pair. But that all changes with the Ultra Flyknits.

The Flyknit itself lightens the load, but it’s the Ultra sole that makes the big difference. Now you get AF1s that tare comfy, light and dope AF. I don’t think that combination was available until this range, I really don’t. The fact that look amazing is actually a bonus on how they feel.

My Take: 9.5/10
I’m giving these a 9.5 purely because I don’t think I can rate them higher than my blue ones, but they’re the same sneaker by design and they really are absolutely killer. I’d be getting them myself if I wasn’t broke right now!! ?

SNEAK FACT!! – Romanian tennis player Ilie “the Bucharest Buffoon” Nastase, was the first athlete to sign an endorsement contract with Nike. He signed his deal in 1972.
